Anna Kukkonen

Description of research and teaching

My PhD research deals with climate change politics, comparing media debates on climate change in the United States, Canada, Brazil, India and Finland. More specifically, I examine these debates from the view point of competing coalitions: what types of policy beliefs divide or unite organizations into coalitions in mass-mediated climate policy debates, and what type of moral justifications do these organizations use in these diverse political-economic contexts.

My research is part of the international research project Comparing Climate Change Policy Networks (COMPON) which analyzes cross-country differences in climate change responses in over 20 countries.
