Description of research and teaching

I graduated from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences with a Master’s degree in 2014. In my master studies I was interested in using pollen to reconstruct past wetland vegetation and climate changes. 

I started my PhD study in September 2014 in University of Helsinki. I am working on last millennia high-latitude permafrost peatland dynamics in Finnish Lapland and northeast European Russia. The special focuses are vegetation, hydrology and carbon dynamics, and I am also trying to find the role of climate changes in driving these dynamics. I use plant macrofossil and testate amoeba as proxies.
